Community Chair Classes
A weekly chair yoga and community gathering combining gentle movement, breath awareness and social connection.
My community chair yoga classes are a gentle, welcoming space to move, breathe and reconnect — supported by the stability of a chair.
This class is designed to make yoga accessible to people who may find mat-based practice challenging, or who simply prefer to be supported while moving. All practices are done seated or using the chair for support, so there is no need to get down onto the floor.
The emphasis is on ease, awareness and connection rather than effort or performance. Movements are slow, mindful and adaptable, supporting mobility, strength, balance and relaxation in a way that feels safe and sustainable for your body.

Move & Mingle
This class is also known as ‘Move & Mingle’ — a friendly and informal space where we begin with gentle chair-based yoga and finish with tea, cake and conversation.
It is a chance not only to move the body, but also to connect with others in a relaxed and unhurried environment. Dietary requirements can always be accommodated.

– Would benefit from a slower, more supported practice
Everything is offered with options and encouragement to work in a way that feels right for you. There is no pressure to move in any particular way.
What to Expect

A Different Approach to Yoga
Chair yoga at Unity Street is part of a wider approach to yoga as a way of living — one that values awareness, curiosity and kindness towards ourselves.
It is not about what the body can or cannot do, but about how we relate to ourselves in each moment.
There is space here for rest, humour, conversation, and simply being as you are.
